Stocks rose today, led by tech shares, as traders kept an eye on Washington for clues on a new coronavirus stimulus package and news of better-than-expected unemployment data.

Dow Jones finished +186 at 27,387

S&P 500 finished +21 at 3,348

NASDAQ finished +110 at 11,108

The 10 Year Treasury closed even yielding 0.54%

Oil prices closed down $0.19 ending at $42.00 a barrel

Gold prices closed up $23.80 ending at $2,073 an ounce

In the days’ stock news:

• Shares of Facebook closed up more than 6% following the U.S. launch of Reels, a new Instagram feature designed to rival Chinese upstart TikTok.
• Etsy dipped more than 3% despite beating on the top and bottom lines of its quarterly results. Etsy earned 75 cents per share on revenue of $429 million.
