U.S. stocks rose to record highs today as investors prepared for a major week of earnings from heavyweight tech companies.

Dow Jones finished +64 at 35,741

S&P 500 finished +22 at 4,566

NASDAQ finished +137 at 15,226

The 10 Year Treasury closed down 2 basis points yielding 1.64%

Oil prices closed down $0.30 ending at $83.46 a barrel.

Gold prices closed up $11.80 ending at $1,808 an ounce.

Tesla closed up more than 12% to hit an all-time high following news that Hertz is ordering 100,000 vehicles to build out an EV rental fleet by the end of 2022.
Whirlpool shares closed down 2.4% after RBC downgraded the stock to underperform from sector perform. The firm said Whirlpool is losing market share and its margins look set to weaken.
