The Dow closed up for a second day to start 2022 as investors bet on the kinds of stocks that would benefit from a robust economy this year despite the omicron threat.

Dow Jones finished +215 at 36,799

S&P 500 finished -3 at 4,793

NASDAQ finished -210 at 15,622

The 10 Year Treasury closed up 2 basis points yielding 1.65%

Oil prices closed up $0.87 ending at $76.95 a barrel.

Gold prices closed up $15.00 ending at $1,815 an ounce.

Warner Music Group closed down more than 3% a day after the company announced a sale of 8.56 million shares by affiliates of Access Industries. Warner Music will not receive any proceeds from the sale and is not selling any shares of common stock in the offering.
Ford closed up more than 11% after the company announced plans to nearly double the production of its new all-electric F-150 Lightning pickup truck to 150,000 annually by mid-2023. The company opened orders this week for the electric truck, which it had previously shut down due to an overwhelming response.
