The Nasdaq fell for the second-straight day as higher interest rates appeared to put pressure on high-flying tech stocks, but banks and industrial names moved higher in a split market today.

 

Dow Jones finished +195 at 35,813

S&P 500 finished +8 at 4,690

NASDAQ finished -80 at 15,775

 

The 10 Year Treasury closed up 6 basis points yielding 1.68%

Oil prices closed up $2.04 ending at $78.79 n  a barrel.

Gold prices closed down $14.40 ending at $1,791 an ounce.

 

In the days’ stock news:

 

  • Best Buy fell more than 12% due to worries over how rising shipping costs could impact the company’s holiday season sales. Those concerns overshadowed better-than-expected quarterly earnings.
  • Zoom Video closed down more than 14% after the company warned investors of a revenue growth slowdown. This caused several Wall Street firms to cut price targets on the stock
