U.S. stocks closed negative today as investors considered a fresh read on weekly unemployment claims and wholesale price inflation out of Washington.

 

Dow Jones finished -177 at 36,113

S&P 500 finished -67 at 4,659

NASDAQ finished -382 at 14,806

 

The 10 Year Treasury closed down 3 basis points yielding 1.69%

Oil prices closed down $1.15 ending at $81.49 a barrel.

Gold prices closed down $6.00 ending at $1,821 an ounce.

 

In the days’ stock news:

 

  • Ford closed up 2% as their market cap topped $100 billion for the first time Thursday. The rally comes as the company plans to increase electric vehicle production, including the Mustang Mach-E crossover and an upcoming electric version of its best-selling F-150 pickup.
  • Delta Air Lines closed up 2% after beating on the top and bottom lines of its quarterly results. Delta earned an adjusted 22 cents per share on revenue of $9.47 billion.
