Stocks finished the day lower, with the DOW, S&P, and NASDAQ all in negative territory. In economic news, there were 248,000 jobless claims last week, 14% higher than expected.

The 10 Year Treasury closed down 8 basis points yielding 1.97%

Oil prices closed down $2.08 ending at $91.62 a barrel

Gold prices closed up $28 ending at $1,923 an ounce

Corporate news:

Shares of Walmart finished the day 4% higher, after reporting better-than-expected quarterly results. Walmart also issued an upbeat forecast and announced a dividend hike.

DoorDash shares ended 11% higher after the food delivery service issued an upbeat outlook for the current quarter.

Cheesecake factory shares increased after beating revenue estimates. The company did announce it is planning a price hike in the new menus currently being printed and said it may lift prices further later this year.
