Stocks closed higher today in another record-setting day on Wall Street, with a batch of stronger-than-expected economic data and corporate earnings results helping fuel a risk rally.

Dow Jones finished +165 at 34,200

S&P 500 finished +15 at 4,185

NASDAQ finished +14 at 14,052

The 10 Year Treasury closed up 6 basis points yielding 1.59%

Oil prices closed down $0.35 ending at $63.11 a barrel.

Gold prices closed up $9.00 ending at $1,776 an ounce.

Morgan Stanley lost 2.7% despite topping analysts expectations for first quarter earnings on the back of better-than-expected trading and investment banking results. The major U.S. bank reported earnings of $2.19 per share on revenue of $15.72 billion.
Sunrun — The solar stock closed up more than 10% after Simmons Energy upgraded the stock to overweight from neutral.
