Stocks finished mixed, with the DOW and S&P both moving higher, while the NASDAQ dropped lower. In economics news, the unemployment rate was 5.4% during July, down 0.4% from June.

 

Dow Jones +145 at 35, 209

S&P 500 + 7 at 4,437

NASDAQ -59 at 14,836

 

The 10 Year Treasury closed up 7 basis points yielding 1.29%

Oil prices closed down $1.01 ending at $68.08 a barrel

Gold prices closed down $46 ending at $1,759 an ounce

 

Corporate news:

 

  • Shares of DraftKings increased 2% after reporting better-than-expected quarterly profits and revenue. DraftKings also raised its revenue forecast for the full year.

 

  • China-based ride-hailing company, Didi Global, said it is considering giving up control of its data to help resolve a regulatory probe by the Chinese government.

 

  • Beyond Meat shares ended the day up 2% despite the company missing earnings estimates. This increase was helped by Beyond meat beating revenue expectations.
