The major averages rebounded sharply today following three days of losses among fears about the fast-spreading Covid omicron variant.


Dow Jones finished +561 @ 35,492

S&P 500 finished +81 @ 4,649

NASDAQ finished +360 @ 15,341


The 10 Year Treasury closed up 5 basis points yielding 1.47%

Oil prices closed up $2.84 ending at $71.45 a barrel.

Gold prices closed down $6.30 ending at $1,788 an ounce.


In the days’ stock news:


  • Boeing closed up 6% after UPS placed an order for 19 of the company’s 767 freighters. Also on Tuesday, RBC named Boeing a top stock pick for 2022, saying it sees free cash flow improving.
  • Nike closed up 6% after they posted a better-than-expected quarterly report despite supply chain issues. The company reported quarterly earnings of 83 cents per share.
