U.S. stocks closed mixed in the unstable session today as investors saw a batch of solid corporate earnings as well as data showing subdued inflation.

 

Dow Jones finished +62 at 31,437

S&P 500 finished -1 at 3,909

NASDAQ finished -35 at 13,972

 

The 10 Year Treasury closed down 3 basis points yielding 1.13%

Oil prices closed up $0.14 ending at $58.50 a barrel.

Gold prices closed up $4.80 ending at $1,842 an ounce.

  • Under Armour – Shares of the athleticwear company were up about 7% after Under Armour reported a surprise profit amid a pandemic-driven rise in consumer spending and interest in exercise and wellness.
  • Lyft — The ride-sharing company’s stock price jumped more than 4% after the company’s fourth-quarter earnings topped Wall Street’s top- and bottom-line expectations. Lyft is also still on track to become EBITDA profitable by the fourth quarter, with a chance that could be achieved by the third quarter, CFO Brian Roberts said in the company’s earnings call.
