The Dow Jones rose in unstable trading today, closing with another record which was boosted by a jump in Verizon and Chevron shares.


Dow Jones finished +90 at 31,613

S&P 500 finished -1 at 3,931

NASDAQ finished -82 at 13,965


The 10 Year Treasury closed down 2 basis points yielding 1.28%

Oil prices closed up $1.16 ending at $61.21 a barrel.

Gold prices closed down $25.00 ending at $1,774 an ounce.


In the days’ stock news:


  • La-Z-Boy – Shares of the furniture maker dipped more than 5% after the company said its third quarter results declined year over year due to impacts from Covid-19. For the period the company reported a 74 cent per share profit excluding items, on $470.2 million in revenue.
  • SolarEdge Technologies closed up 1% following the release of stronger-than-forecast quarterly results. They earned 98 cents per share beating estimates by 11 cents. The company added it expects better sales this quarter in the United States.
