U.S. stocks rose today, building on a three-day winning streak, as investors assessed a new batch of corporate earnings and solid economic data.

 

Dow Jones finished +332 at 31,055

S&P 500 finished +42 at 3,871

NASDAQ finished +167 at 13,777

 

The 10 Year Treasury closed up 1 basis points yielding 1.14%

Oil prices closed up $0.69 ending at $56.38 a barrel.

Gold prices closed down $40.80 ending at $1,794 an ounce.

  • GameStop retail stock resumed its slide today, dropping 42%. The decline despite Robinhood further easing trading restrictions on the unstable security.
  • Clorox fell about 6% despite a better-than-expected second quarter report. Clorox earned $2.03 per share on $1.84 billion in revenue.
