Stocks finished the day higher, with very major index in positive territory. In economic news, there were 1.6 million building permits in June, less than expected.

The 10 Year Treasury closed down 1 basis point yielding 1.28%

Oil prices closed up $0.10 ending at $72.17 a barrel

Gold prices closed down $3 ending at $1,799 an ounce

In corporate news:

Shares of Amazon increased 1% after the company said it moving toward accepting bitcoin for payment and is also considering the creation of its own digital token.

Tencent shares dropped 3% after regulators barred the China-based music platform from holding exclusive rights to online music.

Philips reported better-than-expected earnings for the second quarter, with demand for its hospital equipment still elevated by the pandemic. However, Philips’s shares declined 4% today.
