Stocks opened higher for a second straight morning but spent the day going in and out of positive territory, with the NASDAQ being the only major index to finish in positive territory.

 

Dow Jones  -170 at 26,120

S&P 500 -11 at 3,113

NASDAQ +15 at 9,911

 

The 10 Year Treasury closed down 2 basis points yielding 0.73%

Oil prices closed down $0.80 ending at $37.58 a barrel

Gold prices closed up $1 ending at $1,738 an ounce

 

The days’ stock news:

  • Shares of Norwegian Cruise Line dropped 8% after the company announced the suspension of most voyages through the end of September.
  • Tesla shares increased 1% after signing a 3-year deal with Panasonic, involving the manufacture and supply of automobile batteries at Tesla’s Nevada Gigafactory.
  • Shares of Nikola Moved 2% higher after Cowen said the company is more than just an electric truck maker. It points to the company’s intellectual property in software and firmware and the partnerships it has developed with other companies.
