The Dow rallied 460 points to close at a record as bond yields fell and the new stimulus package spurred investors to snap up stocks that will benefit from a faster recovery from the pandemic.

 

Dow Jones finished +464 at 32,297

S&P 500 finished +23 at 3,898

NASDAQ finished -5 at 13,068

 

The 10 Year Treasury closed down 2 basis points yielding 1.52%

Oil prices closed up $0.77 ending at $64.78 a barrel.

Gold prices closed up $7.00 ending at $1,723 an ounce.

 

In the days’ stock news:

 

  • GameStop continued their unpredictable trading today and got back up to above $300 per share intraday but closed at $262 per share.
  • Toll Brothers closed up about 4.7% after it announced a 54% increase in its quarterly dividend to 17 cents per share from the prior 11 cents. Shares of Toll Brothers are up more than 30% in 2021.
