The Dow Jones and S&P 500 closed lower today as traders digested a weaker than expected report on U.S. retail sales, and eyed the upcoming policy decision and comments from the Federal Reserve.

 

Dow Jones finished -128 at 32,825

S&P 500 finished -6 at 3,962

NASDAQ finished +12 at 13,471

 

The 10 Year Treasury closed up 1 basis point yielding 1.61%

Oil prices closed down $0.73  ending at $64.66 a barrel.

Gold prices closed up $0.80 ending at $1,730 an ounce.

  • Nikola closed down more than 7% after the company announced a $100 million common stock offering in a filing with the SEC.
  • DraftKings closed down almost 1% after DraftKings said it priced its new debt offering of $1.1 billion in convertible senior notes. The company had initially planned a $1 billion offering.
