U.S. stocks closed higher in the first session of May following one of the worst monthly performances for the S&P 500 since the depths of the pandemic in 2020.

Dow Jones finished +84 at 33,061

S&P 500 finished +23 at 4,155

NASDAQ finished +201 at 12,536

The 10 Year Treasury closed up 10 basis points yielding 2.99%

Oil prices closed up $1.00 ending at $105.67 a barrel.

Gold prices closed down $49.00 ending at $1,862 an ounce.

Align Technology closed up 6.5% after the company announced a $200 million accelerated stock repurchase program.
Moderna closed up 5.7% after the company said its Covid-19 vaccine for children under 6 years old will be ready for review in June by a Food and Drug Administration panel. Moderna applied for emergency use authorization for the treatment last week.
