Stocks closed higher, with every major index in positive territory. In economic news, the consumer confidence index was 117.2 during May, lower than the expected 118.7.

 

Here’s a look at how the major indices finished the day:

Dow Jones +11 at 34,323

S&P 500 +8 at 4,196

NASDAQ +81 at 13,738

 

The 10 Year Treasury closed up 1 basis points yielding 1.57%

Oil prices closed up $0.08 ending at $66.15 a barrel

Gold prices closed up $3 ending at $1,901 an ounce

 

Corporate news:

  • Shares of Royal Caribbean increased 4% after the cruise line became the first to receive approval from the CDC to begin test voyages from the Port of Miami.

 

  • Agilent Technologies reported better-than-expected profit and revenue for its latest quarter, and the life sciences company also raised its full-year forecast on what it said was broad-based growth.

 

  • Tesla plans to eliminate radar sensors for its Model 3 and Model Y cars, in favor of a fully camera-based system for its autopilot feature.
