Stocks were mixed today as traders looked for clarity around the presidential and congressional election results. Sentiment was kept in check by better-than-expected U.S. unemployment data.

 

Dow Jones finished -67 at 28,323

S&P 500 finished -1 at 3,509

NASDAQ finished +4 at 11,895

 

The 10 Year Treasury closed up 4 basis points yielding 0.82%

Oil prices closed down $1.36 ending at $37.43 a barrel

Gold prices closed up $5.80 ending at $1,952 an ounce

 

In the days’ stock news:

 

  • Peloton closed down about 1% despite the stationary bike maker’s better-than-expected quarterly results. The workout company posted earnings of 20 cents per share on revenue of $758 million.
  • Roku jumped more than 12% after the company reported a surprise adjusted profit for its third quarter. The company posted 9 cents in earnings per share on $452 million in revenue.
