Stocks closed mixed today as investors monitored upbeat economic data out of China and awaited key retail sales and earnings results out from major U.S. companies later this week.

 

Dow Jones finished -13 at 36,087

S&P 500 finished flat at 4,682

NASDAQ finished -7 at 15,853

 

The 10 Year Treasury closed up 4 basis points yielding 1.62%

Oil prices closed up $0.08 ending at $80.87 a barrel.

Gold prices closed down $3.50 ending at $1  ,865 an ounce.

 

In the days’ stock news:

 

• Tyson Foods closed up 3.6% after they beat earnings expectations. The company posted a quarterly profit of $2.30 per share, 27 cents a share above Refinitiv estimates. Revenue also topped analysts’ forecasts.
• Boeing closed up more than 5% after a company executive said Sunday it’s “getting close” to resuming deliveries of its 787 Dreamliner, after suspending them to deal with production issues. He did not specify timing, but said it depends on the results of ongoing talks with regulators.
