Marching to the Beat of a Different Drummer

I first entered the financial planning business back in 1994. Prior to that I owned and operated a large wholesale bakery for 9 years. My financial planner at the time, George, saw the number of hours I was devoting to this profession, my dedication, my passion, and my pursuit of baking excellence!! (My day started at 7pm, and concluded the following day at 2pm)

For two years, he was relentless in encouraging me to take that same passion and commitment, and re-direct it to helping people plan their financial lives. There was something magical about George, something incredibly genuine, sincere, and compelling. I saw something in him that I loved and admired even more than what I was doing!! He was like the Pied Piper…. somebody worth following. So, I decided to follow George, and what my heart was telling me I needed to do. “Thank you, George,” for rescuing me and saving my life!

And so, 29 years later, my life remains purpose-driven, resolute, deeply intentional, and focused. Now more than ever, what we do for our clients is making a difference in their lives, and in the generations to come. What George had, I now have, and am passing those same convictions onto our agents and staff.

Which leads me to these questions…. “Who are you following? Do you have a George in your life? Somebody who you can trust financially, who is relentless in ‘getting it done correctly,’ and who cares about you and your family as much as you do?” Will that person ‘save you,’ as George saved me, from making poor financial decisions, because of all the noise and confusion out in the marketplace?

Make it a priority to find that person…. your George, and you will be marching to the beat of a different drummer.
