Stocks fell again today at the end of a rough week for markets, which have come under pressure because of a spike in rates to begin 2022.

 

Dow Jones finished -5 at 36,231

S&P 500 finished -19 at 4,677

NASDAQ finished -145 at 14,935

 

The 10 Year Treasury closed up 4 basis points yielding 1.77%

Oil prices closed down $0.41 ending at $79.05  a barrel.

Gold prices closed up $5.00 ending at $1,794 an ounce.

 

In the days’ stock news:

 

  • GameStop closed up more than 7% after news that the company is planning to create a marketplace for NFTs.
  • DraftKings closed up 5.6% ahead of the launch of legal mobile sports betting in New York state on Saturday.
  • Kohl’s closed down 1.6% after UBS downgraded Kohl’s to sell from neutral. The bank said that inflation and less government stimulus could cause Kohl’s to miss earnings expectations in 2022.
