Stocks fell today as traders continued to digest a slew of mixed economic data and its implications for monetary policy.

Dow Jones finished -168 at 34,584

S&P 500 finished -41 at 4,432

NASDAQ finished -138 at 15,043

The 10 Year Treasury closed up 4 basis points yielding 1.37%

Oil prices closed down $0.64 ending at $71.97 a barrel.

Gold prices closed down $4.40 ending at $1,752 an ounce.

Moderna closed down more than 2% as the FDA vaccine advisory committee prepares to enter discussions on Friday afternoon about a Covid-19 booster shot that would be offered to the general public and vote on the Pfizer-BioNTech shot.
Diamondback Energy closed up more than 3% after it announced a $2 billion stock buyback late Thursday as part of its accelerated plan to return 50% of free cash flow to shareholders in the fourth quarter.
